“Hopefully if Darren and I idea goes a float all of us will be in Jamaica relaxing near the water with the wind blowing in our hair.” She smiled, running her fingers through her hair in a dramatic sequence before giggling at her own gesture. “You really think so? That’s sweet of you; you’re a great performer as well. I wish I knew how to play the guitar the way you do. Unfortunately I’m not as musically gifted with instruments as everyone else is.” She smiled, teasingly biting her bottom lip before nodding, “As soon as I finish with a sample I’ll give it to you. You’ll be the first one to hear it.” She paused, “And hopefully the only one before my album drops. What about you though? Are you working on any solo projects or anything?”
“That would be so awesome, I’m definitely up for it, so hopefully everyone else will be.” He smiled, laughing as she pretended the wind was in her air. “Yes, you do great, I’m glad those Idol people turned you down, cause If they hadn’t we wouldn’t have ever met.” He laughed, though he really was very happy about it. “I guys it just comes from having a musical family, but I don’t have the powerhouse lungs you do, so I would say we are even” he said He smiled. His face lit up when she said she would give him a sample, “Really? That would be awesome!” he said excitedly. “Nope, nothing for me right now. Just enjoying some break time. I might do something later though. I wouldn’t mind getting in another music video with my brothers band or something like that.”
“Mark! I kind of miss him.” She pouted lightly and then giggled afterwards, licking her lips before speaking, “Well, I performed with The Roots last night and met Gabby from Precious so that was a big thing for me. I’m always nervous before I perform no matter how many times I’ve performed I’m always nervous.” She said through a sigh, playing with her fingers, “Maybe I’ll break the habit after a million or so shows.” She shrugged, pausing to think, “I’m also working on my album and hopefully I can get a single out or something. You know how quickly things leak around the Internet these days.”
“Yep, I know, it hasn’t even been that long since filming and I already miss everyone too!” He listened intently as he drove. It sounded like she was doing really good for herself, and that made Chord happy. “I’m glad you have all that stuff going for you. Your a great preformer Amber, you have no reason to be nervous.” He laughed though, it did make him nervous to preform live, like back when they were doing the concert tours and stuff. “A solo album? Wow, thats great! I definitely want a copy of your single when it gets released then, but I do know how quickly these things leak.” He laughed a little thinking about how crazy their fans could get sometimes.
“Ready to go?” She asked, grabbing her purse from the shelf nearest the door and walking out into the brisk air. She pulled her jacket closer around her as she got into the car. She was lucky that it was growing dark and there were no cameras or anything around — all she needed was more press about this and that. It got annoying after a while. “So, how are you? And don’t say bored. I had enough of all of you being bored.” She said with a playful tone in her voice. Honestly, Amber was growing bored herself but she was finding things to do. Just last night she had performed with The Roots and not to mention she was working on her album.
“Absolutely” he smiled, as they walked out to the car, he opened the door for her, waiting for her to get in before walking around to his own door. “I’m doing good actually, I went fishing with mark the other day and that was fun. Met some more of his family that I haven’t met before, so it was fun. But I do get bored. I’m so used to working everyday that its hard to find things to do with myself.” he laughed as he pulled away from the curb and headed towards his favorite sushi place. “How about you? Got anything interesting going on?”
Amber was nervous to say the least — it made her feel as if she was singing in front of millions of people and suddenly her nerves rushed to her head and she felt her hands get sweaty. She sighed, silently cussing out Naya in her head. She couldn’t believe Naya had played her cupid ways and pull this, but she couldn’t believe that Chord was going along with it. She liked Chord, but who didn’t? He was funny, handsome, smart, and talented — he was like a walking guide to the perfect boyfriend. The only problem with that was that Amber was nervous she wasn’t seen the same way in his eyes.
Not that it truthfully mattered. This was their first date afterall and if things didn’t end up well they could just toss it to the wind and stay friends. Amber fluffed up her hair and sprayed on some perfume before looking herself over in the mirror. She smiled at her appearance ~~ her black dress finding the curves to her body as she pulled on a leather jacket to better fit her outfit. She blew a kiss to the mirror, seemingly excited as the doorbell rang. She took a steady breath as Chord stood before her. “Hey you.”
Chord wasn’t really nervous about his date with Amber. He was, but not in the way he usually was. He had known Amber for quite a while now, and like everyone in the cast, she was one of his best friends, so he already knew her pretty well and wasn’t worried about conversation or whatever like he normally would be. He finished getting ready, buttoning up the buttons on his collared shirt, and making sure to grab his wallet.
He walked down to his car, getting in and taking all the backroads until he was at Ambers place. The last thing he wanted was for them to be seen by any paparazzi because he knew they would harass them all night, so he made sure not do anything to cause a scene. He walked up to her front door, ringing the doorbell as he waited for her to answer. He found himself gettin a bit nervous, but that was wiped away when Ambers smiling face opened the door. “Hey yourself.” He smiled to her.
